Sam Houser
an English video game producer and developer. He is a co-founder of Rockstar Games and one of the creative forces behind Grand Theft Auto. He is responsible for making the 3D environment within the game. Houser has been making GTA since the third game.
Phil Fish
Philippe Poisson (born 1984), better known as Phil Fish, is a French Canadian former indie video game designer, best known for his work on the 2012 platform game Fez published by his company, Polytron Corporation.
Fez was released in April 2012 to widespread acclaim after a protracted five-year development cycle. Its final phases of development were shown in the 2012 documentary Indie Game: The Movie, which brought Fish celebrity unusual for game developers. Following an online argument in July 2013, Fish publicly announced his exit from game development citing long-term mistreatment by the industry.

Mark Cerny
Mark Cerny is an American video game industry figure who has worked as a game designer, programmer, producer and business executive. As president of Cerny Games, which he founded in 1998, he now acts as a consultant in the video game industry. In 2004, he was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Game Developers Association, and in 2010 he was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame. In 2013 he was announced as the lead architect of the Sony PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

Research Into Handbook and Advertising
I like this design as it is very simple and bold. I think that the use of only two colours is very effective. The matte finish on the black contrasts the gloss of the gold. 

The three images above are all examples surrealism in advertising. In the first we see the man in the advertisement holding the light to light up the advert. I like this as it isnt something if usually see. I think they would have had to build off of the advertisement. In the second image we see the stem and leaf of a tomato on the bottom of a ketchup bottle. It suggest that the whole bottle of ketchup is made up completely of tomatoes. In the final image of the three, we can see an advert for tape. It is a very simple image of tape. However the thing that attracts me to the advert is the fact of the the sign appears to be held up by the same tape suggesting that it is very strong.Monday, 24 November 2014
Bus Station (Meeting with Paul Horne-Project Manager)
I found the meeting with Paul Horne very helpful as I now realise how important it actually is, as it is going in the brand new £3.2 million bus station in the centre of Worksop.

Art Deco or Deco, is an influential visual arts design style that first appeared in France after World War I and began flourishing internationally in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s before its popularity waned after World War II. It is an eclectic style that combines traditional craft motifs with Machine Age imagery and materials. The style is often characterized by rich colours, bold geometric shapes and lavish ornamentation.
Deco emerged from the interwar period when rapid industrialisation was transforming culture. One of its major attributes is an embrace of technology. This distinguishes Deco from the organic motifs favoured by its predecessor Art Nouveau.
Historian Bevis Hillier defined Art Deco as "an assertively modern style ran to symmetry rather than asymmetry, and to the rectilinear rather than the curvilinear; it responded to the demands of the machine and of new material the requirements of mass production".
During its heyday, Art Deco represented luxury, glamour, exuberance and faith in social and technological progress

Health and safety videos.

Colour Theory.
In the visual arts, colour theory is a body of practical guidance to colour mixing and the visual effects of a specific colour combination. There are also definitions (or categories) of colours based on the colour wheel: primary colour, secondary colour and tertiary colour. Although colour theory principles first appeared in the writings of Leone Battista Alberti (c.1435) and the notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci (c.1490), a tradition of "coloury theory" began in the 18th century, initially within a partisan controversy around Isaac Newton's theory of colour (Opticks, 1704) and the nature of so-called primary colours. From there it developed as an independent artistic tradition with only superficial reference to colourimetry and vision science.

Donkey!

The Visit!














We set of from from Worksop at around six o'clock in the morning. We then arrived at London to walk around the HE fair and talk to universities such as Sheffield Hallam and Falmouth. I looked in the direction of games design. We then set off to Tate London where all of the photos attached are from. However the last one is from the V&A.Tuesday, 7 October 2014
Evaluation of peers work
Life drawing!
I like the style of my drawing however if I could put more detail in the head it could become event better. I think that the head is the weakest part of the drawing.
I have created another piece of art based on the human form i.e. the skeleton I focused on the arm and hand.
I like my piece as I feel that I have created a quite pleasant piece as I feel that I've shown line and tone quite well.
Charcoal
Currently I have been working with charcoal. This was my piece, I enjoyed working with charcoal. I used it quite a bit in secondary school and I like the definition you can add with it. I would like to use charcoal more often.
